Who am I?
My name is Michelle and I live on the Wirral, over the Mersey from Liverpool. I've worked within various flavours of engineering including: Test, Manufacturing, Production, Hardware, Software, Industrial and Simulation; the latter two at Jaguar Land Rover.
This has given me skills and experience in:
- The significance of clear and concise communication
- The need for accuracy and efficiency
- The importance of quality, standards and consistency
- The development of a meticulous attention to detail
- The value of diversity and social responsibility
- The ability to organise, set smart goals and project manage
In 2019, I took voluntary redundancy and had a blissful year-long career break, which was unintentionally extended by nine months due to a certain virus-related lock-down. I used the extra time to re-train in graphic design and website development; an area that has interested me since school. I have since studied and completed courses in graphic design, image making, typography and web development, as well as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, InDesign and Bootstrap Studio. It was a pretty busy lock-down.
Animals
As an aside, I am a real animal lover and, if push came to shove, I'd have to say my favourites are otters. Or cheetahs. Or, maybe whales. No, no, it's definitely badgers. Or maybe wolves. Anyway, I wouldn't necessarily think to write down "rhinos" here.
Though I have no particularly strong feelings about the (not so) little fellas, in looking for a suitable self image for this page, I uncovered an unusual number of rhino-related photo options...
*No actual rhinos were harmed or even used in the taking of these photos.
